Scripture: Mark 10:36 - "What do you want me to do for your?" [Jesus] asked.
Can you answer this question? If I asked you this question right this minute, would you be able to answer it without thinking? Do you know what you want? "Part of being emotionally healthy and mature is in knowing how to recognize our needs and how to get them filled."
Think about a child who has not yet learned how to speak...they must be frustrated! They cannot tell us how they feel, what they want, why it hurts, what happened, etc. Instead they throw tantrums, cry, scream, and throw it down to the ground. "We are exactly the same when we get out of practice, which happens when we put everyone's needs far ahead of our own. We forget the language of the heart and how to express ourselves in this way...we express our needs in other ways: withdrawing, smoldering glares, snapping, nagging, or chilly extended silence."
The next time you start to feel frustrated take a moment to remember when youre needs were fulfilled first. Remember to do a self check and ask "What do I want or need?" and be honest about your answer. If you know what you want or need, go obtain it. By first fulfilling our needs, we can be much more useful in God's plan for his kingdom.

New House
For anyone who was unaware, Josh and I are currently looking for a new home and are looking to sell our house. We've been looking for some time and our house has been up for almost a month now.
Monday we had the option of viewing 28 homes. Of the 28, we physically toured 10 homes inside and out and drove by an additional 7. These additional 7 were either too "cookie-cutter" looking, bad neighborhood, or were too far from a highway...making a very long drive to work for both of us.
Below are pictures of "the home" we are now working towards. Josh declared this place was home, but only if it was in the Raytown School District...Let me say that God quickly answered the prayer and it is within the Raytown School District!
Here are the facts:
4 bedrooms ~ 2 full baths ~ Built in 1939 ~ 1.5 stories ~ 1 Fireplace (formal living room) ~ 1 wood burning stove (hearth room) ~ Formal living room ~ Formal dining room ~ hearth room ~ attic storage (in house and garage) ~ 2 car detached oversized garage ~ screened porch ~ deck ~ finished basement ~ 2 acres land

TV/Movie side of the basement. This will eventually have carpet in it.
This side of the basement used to be a garage. It now has glass blocks for the windows. This side will also have carpet in it and will be a play area for the kids.
This part of the basement will hold our deep freezer and storage.
Ceiling in the hearth room and part of the kitchen...notice that it is natural wood to play off the attributes of the hearth room.

4th bedroom. Notice the top of the stairs has a gated area to keep the kids from falling down the stairs. This room also has 2 access points to the attic storage.

Washer and Dryer area (this is right next to the kitchen and will need to have the doors installed to hide it).

Hall off the 2nd bedroom that looks all the way to the kitchen (if the 3rd bedroom doors remain open) 
2nd bedroom - this room has 2 closets and a window seat with 2 drawers for storage 
1st bedroom - this is the smallest (we'll use it for an office) and also has no closet
